Il lettore si confronterà con l'influenza di questi sacerdoti nelle aree urbane e rurali del nord e del nord est del Brasile; nella formazione dei futuri sacerdoti in queste due regioni e nella promozione umana in diversi settori della vita della popolazione. La ricerca portata avanti dall'autore si basa su un'ampia documentazione, tesi universitarie e testimonianze personali, orali e scritte, che mostrano ai lettori quanto i sacerdoti lazzaristi abbiano influenzato la cultura brasiliana nel XIX secolo. |
